You will be rafting the commercial sections Åsengjuvet and Heidal. Great class 2-4 rafting. At the end of the day you will reach Åmot falls. The whole section can be run commercially at the right level. Class 4/5 rafting. If not, a few more portages on the rapids needed, until you end the trip in Gudbrandsdalslågen. The end of the Sjoa River.

2 minute drive back to Heidal Rafting’s base where you will be served a proper dinner. It will be late so we recommend that you stay the night with us before driving back on Monday morning after breakfast.

Safety and Preparation

Our main expedition guide is called Rob. He lives in the Sjoa River Valley at the lower end of the Sjoa River. He has been involved in the river community in the summers running his own kayak tours as well as working freelance for the raft & kayak companies in the valley. He has more than 6 years of experience with the Sjoa river and have paddled 8 full lengths of the Sjoa with others and alone by kayak & portage.

Rob will be accompanied by other experienced guides from the area givning us the local knowledge, experience and safety that is needed for a trip like this.

We will be traversing the river in rafts of 4 people plus 1 Guide giving us both room, comfort and safety.

This trip will have lots of fun, adrenaline and stunning views but it will also require that you are in decent shape so that you can paddle and follow the instructions of the guides.
